Description
Reypenaer 1 year is produced by a small cheese factory in a traditional way. The cheese is aged for 1 year in the unique microclimate of our old warehouse in Woerden with natural differences in temperature and humidity. This is a perfect cheese as an aperitif, to start the evening or dinner. But this 1 year old cheese is also delicious on the sandwich. The long aftertaste is a stimulant for the taste buds. Reypenaer was voted best Gouda cheese in the Netherlands at the prestigious International Cheese Awards in Nantwich (in 2005, 2007 and 2009).
Taste description
The intense taste is smooth and soft and stays in the mouth for a long time. Foretaste: light-colored, salty. Aftertaste: slightly nutty, woody, light vanilla.
